speaking english fluently with confindence

whokillme
I'm good at writing and understanding English, but I really struggle with foreign accents—it takes me a while to process what’s being said. I’ve tried reading books, watching movies, singing songs, and bingeing series, but nothing seems to help much. As an undergrad from India, I often fumble and lose confidence when speaking in front of others. It’s frustrating because I know I have the skills, but I just can’t express them properly, and I end up missing out on opportunities. Any tips on how to improve or advice for someone in the same boat as me?

Speaking and listening and reading are all separate skills. You'll need to practice speaking to get confident and good at it.

Focus on a specific accent first. American English is the most common accent, so you could try to start with that. Accustom yourself to that accent with TV shows, podcasts, American friends and whatnot. You're not going to understand a new foreign accent well at first, so stick with it instead of giving up. Then once you feel like you understand that accent well when you hear it, start exposing yourself to other accents. A good rule of thumb to know if you can understand an accent well is if you're able to differentiate between them.

Don't go for foreign accent ,try to speak naturally and do focus on vocabulary
