What’s the joke here? Why would an electrician strip?

Hi! Sorry for asking it here, but I'm wondering why I can't make a post. Its immediately being removed. Does anyone know why? (I've just never used reddit before, so I don't know how it works)

It's a double meaning. The word "stripping" just means to take something off. It's commonly used to mean to take clothing off, but isn't limited to clothing. The other most common usage of the term is for electricians. One common thing they do is strip wires. In other words, remove the insulation so they can be joined to other wires. That is also called stripping.

Electricians typically buy large spools of wire covered in insulating plastic. The best price they’ll get for it is when it’s “bare bright,” where bare means stripped (removed from its colored plastic insulation) and bright means shiny, uncorroded copper. So they regularly strip copper wire to sell it.
