Can we say “put someone on notice about something”? I only saw the structure of “put someone on notice that+clause”.

Can we say “put someone on notice about something”? I only saw the structure of “put someone on notice that+clause”.

Yes, that structure works as well and sounds natural.

seems kinda strange (but understandable) to my west coast US ears. Like something from British English.

yes that's fine, and you can also say "on alert" especially if it's something important
