As an American, it's "elementree" where the "tr" at the end has some "ch" in it
Saying "elementary" or "elementerry" sounds British to me (I don't know if they actually pronounce it that way)--with some long words Americans and Brits put the stresses on different syllables

as a person who teaches english, i pronounce it as it is spelled, each syllable, (so the first one) so my kids will hear the correct spelling.
