Audacity means someone acts as if they are above the rules and norms of others. It takes audacity to walk into a meeting 20 minutes late and put your feet up on the table.

It's "how dare you?" in a word.
If someone is being ESPECIALLY rude, they must have some form of audacity to think they could do that thing.

Audacity can mean boldness, daringness, unconventionality, lateral thinking. An "audacious plan" could be like that movie from the '90s where they have to fly a spaceship to an asteroid and blow it up with nukes before it destroys the Earth.
It can alternately mean insolence, sometimes with ambition, but not always. It's possible to be audacious without negativity.
Audacity is also the name of a free sound editor / digital audio workstation that has been around for a very long time.

It means boldness but in an extremely negative way. It's similar to entitlement and arrogance but not exactly the same.
Someone who is audacious is being overly bold in an inherently offensive and unearned way

It means to be bold, brave, or foolish. It is usually used to mean breaking social norms or saying things that are really inappropriate. The word is always used as a noun.
It is related to the adjective audacious which means a person is willing to take bold risks.
"I can't believe my ex husband had the audacity to suggest we resume our relationship after he had an affair with another woman!"
"It's very audacious of you to tell my sister she was getting fat after she kindly invited you to her home."

I mean this respectfully, please learn to use a dictionary. Merriam-Webster is free online.

It will save you so much time and hassle.

"I'd done not only my own work, but also my coworkers work, and the boss had the AUDACITY to ask me why I had taken a lunch hour."
"When I caught my husband cheating on me, he had the audacity to tell me it was my fault because I'm not a good enough cook or , Housekeeper."

Most comments are treating audacity as a bad thing.
I have never thought of it as a bad thing. Certainly it can be misplaced, and that is where it gets used in utterances like, "You have the audacity to come in here and say this to my wife?"
But audacity can be quite pleasant and quite good — the audacity to try to solve an unsolved problem, the audacity to call the powerful to account.

If A uses this word to describe what B did, A is expressing an opinion that whatever B did was a big violation of accepted social norms: shocking, bold, extremely rude, etc.
I think that most of the time this would be used in a context where A does completely disapprove of what B did. But there could be cases where A secretly admires B for having the courage to disregard social norms.
First example: After stealing my boyfriend, she had the audacity to invite me to be in the wedding party!
Second example: And then she had the audacity to call the president a liar, to his face!

Audacity is the English word for chutzpah, if that helps.
Chutzpah/audacity is when a defendant on trial for murdering his parents asks for leniency on account of his being an orphan.

Bold aggressive presumptuousness. To think one's self beyond civil norms or expectations of behavior or thought. Over confidence mixed with rudeness.
This is a tough word. I'm really curious to see how other people describe it.

Usually, you'll hear it used to mean someone's being particularly disrespectful or rude, e.g. someone who cuts in line and is rude or mean when the person they stepped in front of complains/protests.
