How do you name type of headphones that you can hang around your neck with a long wire between speakers. In my language some shops advertise them as "athletic".

Okay so headphones is what we call all speakers that play music directly into your ears. But this is colloquially. When you're looking to purchase they use more specific terms. Headphones are the big cups that have a band connecting them that go over your head. There are 2 types of headphones, On ear and over ear. This is talking about how big the cup the speaker is in and how it is positioned on the ear.
You are talking about Earbuds. These are mini speakers that go inside the ear. There are wired and wireless earbuds. And some earbuds have ear hooks that secure them tightly too the ear to prevent them from falling out.
So you are looking for Wired earbuds, that's what you describe as "athletic"

(You kinda need to specify that they're wired, because so many people have wireless ones.)
