I did my homeworks. Is my accent still incomprehensible?

Steren_Cantina
Hi folks, I posted [a few months ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/EnglishLearning/comments/1gi31go/is_my_accent_truly_incomprehensible/) to share a video I made on which I had received a few comments stating that my accent was 'incomprehensible' and that they would rather 'listen to AI voices' than mine. Many people replied to my post with good advices and here I am two months later, asking you to assess if I have progressed. I mainly focused on pronounciation : once my script is written, I go through it to highlight which part should be stressed and focus on that when recording. Also I tried to slow down a lot. Here's my last video to listen to (btw it deals with Star Wars): [https://youtu.be/T9mReOpd\_3A?si=OzHWbL66NuvjiiSi](https://youtu.be/T9mReOpd_3A?si=OzHWbL66NuvjiiSi) Cheers

Admittedly I only listened to the first 30 seconds or so, but I could understand just about everything you said. I closed my eyes so that I wouldnt see the subtitles.

(Homework is always singular, no matter how many assignments you have.) Just listened to a bit. It’s fine in the very beginning, but then it seems like you started speeding up, and I lost you. I expect I could have deciphered it with careful attention, but that isn’t really a chore you want to assign to a YouTube audience. Most people would probably click out, like I did. Are you having your videos captioned, or just going with the auto-captioning? Because if the captions are good, you could include verbal and video suggestions to turn on the captioning. But only if the captioning is done well.

Hello! I briefly listened the two videos to compare. And your accent has definitely improved! However, as mentioned in the other post, I think your phonetics could use some work, and if that's improved you could be on your way to sounding native, because your tone and inflection is already quite good. Example: Words: comments, complicated Your phonemes: "k ***uh*** m eh n z" - "k ***uh*** m p l iy k ey d ih d" Alternate way: "k ***aa*** *m eh n* ***t*** *s" - "k* ***ao*** *m p l ih k ey d eh d"* Just a couple examples. Hope this is helpful!"
