How does people who actually gets better at english while live in non English speaking countries spend a day?

I have been studying English for almost 5 years and still not safe to say I’m proud of my progress i made so far. I ‘ve been really trying to put myself in a situation where I can only consume contents in english, but tbh I don’t think I did as much as I should have and now that i regret that I couldn’t be bothered to make myself put all into it, thinking I would have been so much better at it if i had done it more efficiently. So I was wondering how long does people who study language so seriously spend a day with the target language. it can be not your experience but someone you’ve heard of or anything, I’d like to do the same

No need to regret the time you haven’t spent learning :) you can always add more interesting content for input as your comprehension improves. Now that you’ve spent 5 years learning via content consumption. You can probably try joining a speaking club and see if you can keep up with others there. One hour a day of casual conversation with someone at your level and you will surely become more confident and add balance to your learning activities. You can google SpeakDuo or LangClub <— these are website for practice with other learners online. SpeakDuo is for 1:1 practice. LangClub for practice in groups. Good luck!

Language learning frustration is common. Consistent daily practice (even short sessions) is key, focusing on quality over quantity. Fluent English speakers exist regardless of background. Don't give up.
