Which preposition is more common? I saw both “on” and “in” for the “home stretch”.

“On” is more common but “in” isn’t wrong

I've always heard in.   afaik it's the way it's used in the original context (horse racing, I think?)

I may be in a unique position here... I've always felt that it's on. However I feel like you could say into as well
