It’s a peel! But I think that many people might colloquially refer to it as a paddle, pizza paddle, or spatula.
MisterProfGuy•
That's called a peel. That shape is usually called a pizza peel. Ones with short handles can be called baker's peels, and bread peels or baguette peels are long and narrow.

I call it a spatula or a pizza spatula
Whatistweet•
Most people would probably call it a paddle, but I guess in this case it's technically called a peel.

A peel.

It's a peel.

It's called a peel, but most English speakers don't know that and would probably call it a spatula, a shovel, or probably a "big wooden spoon thingy."

That's a pizza getter. Or a bread roll getter. (Not really. But it should be) [https://www.reddit.com/r/thingsforants/comments/1hl42f1/what\_is\_this\_a\_soup\_getter\_for\_ants/](https://www.reddit.com/r/thingsforants/comments/1hl42f1/what_is_this_a_soup_getter_for_ants/)

I'd call it a pizza pallet.

I know it has a name, but I would just call it a big wooden pizza paddle thing, or something else that’s just descriptive.

“Y’know, that pizza putty-inny thing-a-ma-bob. Tf is that called by the way?” Apparently according to the top comment it’s called a peel, but I would try to mention it, wonder what it’s actually called, look it up, and promptly forget.

you nailed it, buddy.

I'd call it a big wooden spoon thingy

i, personally, as a native english speaker, believe “large wooden spoon thingy” is a perfectly acceptable name for it
arcxjo•
A peel. Mine's name is Emma.

I think it is technically called a peel or a peeler, but I have always called it a paddle-board
kmoonster•
"Peel" if it's pizza you are making (because you use it to "peel" the pizza off the floor of the oven). "Paddle" is the generic term and can be used for most circumstances.
tumblerrjin•
Common American fuck here, that’s a paddle.

I've never worked in a pizza place, nor in a bakery, but I knew it was a paddle. Not sure how I knew, but I knew.

IDK. You won't be expected to know. If you do learn you'll end up being the one to teach native speakers lol.

Peel - from the latin Palus - a stake. Related to pole, or pale. Palisades were wooden fences made of stakes, that often surrounded a medieval fortified tower house called a Peel Tower.

I'd've called it a pizza stick.

I'd call it a baker's paddle
