Please note that this is not an exhaustive list. Some of the words that are only listed under prefix are sometimes used as suffixes and vice versa. For example, there was a moment in a TV show where an angel called the Archangel Michael ["Assbutt."](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6nCBQXJdRg) There's also some words that didn't make either list but are occasionally used. For example, I had a professor who was quite fond of the term "douche-pickle" to refer to another professor, and "douche-canoe" is a rather popular variant. From what I understand, English has one of the most flexible and inventive swearing systems of any language on the planet. In addition to this mix-and-match insult system, we also use swears as "infixes" where a curse word is inserted in the middle of an existing work as a form of emphasis and connotative modulation. For example, "absolutely" can become "abso-fucking-lutely."

I never understood how people could possibly imagine themselves to be being productive and useful and intelligent when making up stupid names to mock their political opponents like a toddler Insults in general are kind of useless mid-brained stuff, theyre fundamentally shallow. Like if someone does something that makes you angry, instead of spewing some random and meaningless emotional fart, explain to them why their actions are harmful and stupid, it's far more biting and actually has the potential to improve the situation That said, these are more ideological misgivings than anything strictly related to linguistics. A more linguistically focused concern is that this list is from a very specific internet community, and includes 20 year old results that might already be less relevant. I wouldn't put much weight on the frequency shown here, but the list itself could be useful I'm a fan of expletives that sound like swearing but arent. Like "horse" and "fist" and "schist" and the classic "jiminy crimbo"
