In my US accent, wander rhymes with launder, and wonder rhymes with thunder.

This varies from dialect to dialect as the vowel sounds have a habit of sounding more or less similar depending on what kind of English you speak.
For me, wander has a short A vowel sound, my mouth opens wider as I say the first syllable. It sounds like the first vowel sound in words like water or wash. It rhymes with "non-" as in nonstop or nonsense.
Wonder has a short O sound, my mouth doesn't open as much almost as if attempting a whistle. The first syllable is identical to the number "one". It rhymes with "none" and "nun" but also "ton" and "bun".
A similar question that you'll get different answers to are the differences with marry, merry, and the names Murray and Mary.

1) Magic "wand" with an er at the end.
2) "One Direction" without the last two syllables

Wander has an ah sound
Wonder has an uh sound
Embarrassed-Weird173•
Wander = want her (with a d sound instead of t, and no h)
Wonder should actually be wunder, but Michael English was a moron when he invented the word.
DogDrivingACar•
The first syllable of `wonder` sounds the same as `won` or `one`. The first syllable of `wander` sounds kind of like the name `Juan`.

Wander sounds like wand, like the magic stick
Wonder sounds like won, like winning a game
