the original says: all people think about is sex these days

"sex" got censored, that's the word missing that makes this make sense. And it really is censored to the point of almost looking like it's not even in the post so I understand your confusion, people really go overboard censoring words to avoid filters on websites to the point of it being incomprehensible sometimes

I've seen this meme before and this version is censored! This is supposed to read "All people think about is sex these days," with the irony being that Grandma is upset about people being thinking about sex/being more open about their sex lives when she has a lot of children that she presumably had sex to create.

Because "all" here means "the one and only thing people think about."
QuercusSambucus•
It's another way of saying "*blank* is the only thing people think about"

"Is" is the verb here, you have to have that in a sentence. There is just a word left out, which is implied to mean "sex".

Cause “All people think about” — one big noun and subject. And “is” gives this noun a definition.
CheckHot9586•
"Is" is being used because it's the verb connecting to "all". People think about sex. All is sex. All people think about is sex.

"Sex" is now a word to hide?

"All people think about sex these days" = every person thinks about sex
"All people think about is sex these days" = sex is the only thing people think about
They are very similar. The first is just claiming that every person has or does think about sex, but does not say it is frequent. The second claims that the general public only thinks about sex or thinks about sex all the time.

"Is" has nothing to do with the word "sex" here. It's connected to the word "all", which is singular. If the word in the beginning was plural, then it would be "are": The apples that we picked in the garden are so sweet.

Oh I was guessing it was “kids” but yeah, sex makes more sense. Haha

they whited out the subject probably to make the meme less vulgar

Your question should be: "Why is "is" used here?"

Don’t dead open, inside.

All is being used here as a pronoun meaning 'the only thing', so the sentence could also be written as
Sex is all people think about these days.
Similar usage occurs in sentences like
All I want is you.
All we know at this stage is that he has been found.
All I meant was this one suits you better.
All you need is your own imagination.
All she does is complain.

"sex" refers to a concept and is singular from how I understand it.
Maria_Dyakova•
It is like "All we need IS love" and here is "All people think about IS sex". The same structure.
