Third wheel is a very common phrase in English to mean a person who is single hanging out or intruding with two people who are a couple or otherwise romantically engaged.
I’m not sure if you’re asking for other phrases or just asking about third wheeling

Every language has idiomatic expressions whose meaning cannot be derived from the literal interpretations of the words within them. The average person uses hundreds, often unconsciously—plenty of Americans, who may not know anything about baseball, say things like "we need to cover our bases" or "I'll have to take a rain check" or "they're playing hardball" without realizing they originate in baseball. There is a whole separate Wikipedia article just about [baseball metaphors for sex](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseball_metaphors_for_sex).

Are you asking for examples of other phrases like "third wheel," or are you actually asking if people here are familiar with the term "third wheel"?
